Description

Never in the history of this city have the wishes of an entire neighborhood--particularly a neighborhood filled with affluent residents and pricey homes--been trampled on by a city administration in quite the brutal and underhanded fashion that's now being employed by Mayor Paul Dyster and "City Planner" Tom DeSantis in their bizarre quest to transform Jayne Park on Cayuga Island from a pastoral oasis into a concrete and asphalt paved urban park. Back in May of last year, the Niagara Falls Reporter obtained copies of a plan for the park that had been withheld by the administration from the people who would be most affected by it--the residents of Cayuga Island.
