Mayor Paul Dyster and "Planning Director" Tom DeSantis had their heads handed to them Wednesday as more than 130 angry residents packed the small Community Room at the LaSalle Library on Buffalo Avenue. The meeting had been called by the officials themselves and was designed to override strong opposition by Cayuga Island residents to a modernization plan for Jayne Park, a pastoral, 20-acre preserve where kids have played baseball and many species of migratory birds have found sanctuary since its dedication more than 70 years ago.
