The second trial in August, 1981 concluded with a conviction of the defendant and imposition of a life sentence which was reversed by this Court for the improper refusal of a manslaughter instruction. Ruffin v. State, 444 So. 2d 839 (Miss. 1984). This third trial also resulted in a conviction of murder and life sentence.
