‘I have existed since before time began. I have faced a host of Yahweh’s forces in a battle that spanned aeons, where the entire history of the multiverse is merely the middle of a cold war in which open conflict has ceased only because the Major Generals of both sides are incarcerated. I have fought gods and came out the victor.’ Haagenti stepped forward. He took hold of Atharron’s arm and raised it, placing the cross in front of his eyes, ‘Through all that I have never been captured. And I never will, for I am to lead the Kadhrendi armies for the Abyss when the Ultimate War comes again.’ He wrapped his hand around the shaft of the crucifix. Hissing smoke rose from his skin and he snapped the cross, ripping it from Atharron’s hand. With his other, he grabbed Atharron’s neck and pulled his face closer, ‘The Forgotten War was as insignificant as a duel!’
