By Kristine Krafts, M.D.,
Assistant Professor
Department of Pathology
University of Minnesota School of Medicine
Minneapolis, MN

Clot or Bleed (A Painless Guide for People Who Hate Coag) is written for students who have had a difficult time understanding coag. It explains how clots are formed and broken down, shows how to use laboratory tests in practice, and reviews bleeding and clotting disorders. It’s straightforward, easy to understand, and full of memorable mnemonics (you’ll never forget the extrinsic and intrinsic arms again).

Kristine Krafts, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, where she has taught pathology to medical and dental students since 1993. Her blog, PathologyStudent.com, is geared toward making pathology understandable - and fun - for medical students, dental students, and allied health students. She also has created a Pathology Student series of study guides, two of which are available on iBooks, with more to come in spring, 2012.
