Description

Active measures refer to various Soviet operations aimed at furthering Soviet foreign policy objectives and extending worldwide soviet influence. Active measures were presented in various themes through overt (white), semi-covert (gray) and covert (black) channels that were directly or indirectly connected to the Soviet diplomatic and security agencies. Most of the information on active measures programs comes from various Soviet defectors such as Oleg Gordievsky and information from Soviet archives.

This book is a very brief article about the project and politics behind Active Measures.
This work comes from a longer work called "The History of Spying," which is also available.
