Description

Katy Regnery's New York Times bestselling Blueberry Lane series continues with The Rousseau siblings!

Jacqueline "Jax" Rousseau is vivacious, rich, smart and beautiful…but that doesn't mean she's lucky in love: she's dated doctors, lawyers, actors and politicians who've all managed to end up disappointing her. In fact, she's on a self-imposed hiatus from love when  she has an unpleasant run-in with her neighbor's gorgeous new landscaper, Gardener Thibodeaux. Jax is not accustomed to gruff, ill-mannered men that can't be charmed, but when he saves her skin, she realizes that something about Gard intrigues her...and if she can find her way through the armor that surrounds his heart, she might finally find a love that won't let her down.

I loved this book! This is a connected series and while it can be read as a stand alone you will want to read all the others. The way this author is able to make you connect with the characters is amazing! The feels you will feel, amazing, the writing, flawless. I can't wait to see what's to come in Mads book! From the first chapter we are drawer into the story and start falling for the characters. We want to know their story, we want to feel whatever pain they have and make it all better. I found myself connecting with Jax and wanted nothing more than to be her friend. I love how she gave her all in the things that she did. She is the type of heroine that I am drawn to most and Katy was able to write her perfectly. She was delicate but strong. The hero was a total swoon!!!!! Right from the start he had me by the heart, he was so determined. He was funny yet respectful. I think I found my self my next book boyfriend! That ending! It was the perfect ending! Out off all the men in this interconnected series I have a new favorite! This book was able to pull out the feelings without being overly dramatic. The characters had rough pasts yes, but while we learn about those pasts in a complementary way to the author's writing. I get a feeling that she doesn't want us to break down in sobs (like in some of her other books) Her writing in this book not only cement cemented my beliefs that she is an amazing writer but she can take a plot and twist and weave it into something this beautiful even after all the book she wrote she can still come up with fresh and new ideas that don't feel like anything we've ever read before. Overall I loved everything about these characters and this story! I can't wait to see what is to come me in the other books!!!!!! 5 stars all the way and I would give it more if I could! #2OCCJD

A sure sign that at a story has captured my heart is when the characters continue to flit through my mind even after I have finished reading their story. Well Katy Regnery has once again achieved that accomplished with Jonquils for Jax. She has taken me back to her Blueberry Lane series in spectacular fashion. Gardener and Jax intrigued me from the moment they met giving me a deep sense that this couple was going to touch me...and they definitely did. After being hounded and chased by the paparazzi in California, Jax returns home seeking shelter and privacy. After an unfortunate incident while working in Philadelphia, Gardener has secluded himself to working in the gardens of one of her neighbor’s homes. When Jax unexpectedly runs into Gardener, despite his brusque exterior, she quickly becomes intrigued and can’t seem to get him out of her mind. Although Gardener initially envisions Jax to be a “duchess,” his thoughts likewise seem to return to images of her as well. As they agree to a boundary of friendship, they begin to find a solace with each other which they had never before experienced. Despite the different worlds they come from, both Jax and Gardener begin to sense a mutual attraction that neither of them can ignore which quickly leads their hearts to a love they never expected to find. Jonquils for Jax is a beautiful and tender love story, and the deep connection and passion Jax and Gardener shared made my heart flutter. From the moment they met, it was as though their souls became intertwined. They seemingly had the ability to read each other’s thoughts and to sense what the other was feeling. This linking of their spirits leads both Jax and Gardener on a path to opening their hearts to one another as they begin to share their fears and feelings despite their own insecurities. I really loved these two souls and how deeply they connected almost as if they were always meant to find each other. There were even a couple of turning points in their story when I just knew that their bond had been solidified. As I am writing this review, I sit here still with a smile on my face and a bit of a lump in my throat. I don’t know how she does it, but it is as if Katy Regnery can read my thoughts as she knows how to touch my heart with her characters over and over again. I’ve been following...well maybe stalking...Ms. Regnery and her stories since the very first release, and she still continues to wow me each and every time. I have been asked many times which one of her stories is my favorite, and although there are a few that have completely shattered me emotionally (in a good way, of course), I have absolutely loved them all and can now add Jonquils for Jax to that list. Katy Regnery is an enormously creative and talented writer and as long as she continues to write her stories, I shall continue to read them all.
