His fans honored him with three Hugo Awards and his colleagues with one Nebula Award. He died on April 25, 1988, in Minneapolis.

The Earth is under attack for about six months now. A horror has come and it is wiping out places, small towns, killing people, destroying the entire planet. Death is everywhere, but where it comes from?
People cannot figure out what is happening on the Earth, since there is nothing that causes the horror. It is an unspeakable horror and chaos in the world, now threatening to strike America. Not having other explanation, scientists stated that the source of the events comes from the fourth dimension. In order to stop it, they send warriors to the other side to fight against the evil.
On the other side, all the humans incorporate together into a single enormous monster and fight in a long-time battle against the long known enemy.
This is a story about an inter-dimensional invasion by one strong enemy of, so called, hellhounds.
