She believes men are not honorable nor are they kind-until she meets one that changes her heart forever.
Betrayed by lies told before her birth, Aishlinn is raised by a harsh and cruel stepfather. Her life is forever changed one horrifying night when she is forced to flee England for the safety of the Scottish Highlands. Rescued by a fierce band of highland warriors, Aishlinn soon learns that honorable men do exist. She finds a strength she never knew she possessed and it will be tested to the limits when she is forced to make a heart-wrenching decision…allow the English to kill those she loves, or surrender for the crime she committed.

She is everything he never knew he wanted in a woman….

As a fierce highland warrior, Duncan McEwan has survived numerous battles, bed countless women, and survived a horrific storm at sea. He has scaled mountains and even survived hand-to-claw battle with a cat-o’mountain. But none of that could have prepared him for how his life forever changed one fateful spring day when he rescued a lass from a freezing stream. He will do anything to keep her as his own and will risk everything to keep her out of the hands of the English.

This is a horribly written book. It is as though the author believes using the words ye and lass means the writing is of the appropriate Scottish time. I didn’t like the characters and couldn’t finish this book.

The book was good. read it in about a day and a half. That tells me that I truly wanted to know what happened in the book. I wish that Aishleen didn't spend more than hafl the book being a damsel in distress, or that Duncan would show his interest in her more early on. For about half the book I didn’t feel the attraction. The book does have a small happy twist close to the end, and overall it was a good book, but I defenitely skipped a few paragraphs becasue there was a lot of extra uneeded info.

This had me at the edge of my seat the whole way - such a great read. For the other reader not sure if they should read on because of her dress - she was wearing her shift under it. Like a thin dress/slip. Great ending, very well done.
  • Not sure if I should read any further

The earl cut her dress off her, cut it with a knife from top to bottom, then tore it off her body... But she puts it on, jumps on a horse (after being beaten almost to death) and flees. Then falls off her horse, into an icy river, in front of a group of young men. Yet she doesn't struggle to hold the pieces of her dress on the horse and no one notices, or mentions, the fact that the front of her dress is split from 'bodice to hem'. Really???
