My name is Melodi White. I did something I shouldn’t have.

I fell for my boss.

In my defence, I didn’t know he was my soon-to-be new boss.

After the loss of my twin sister, I decided it was finally time to start living again. Corban helped me thrive through the darkness that once coated my life. But, when a horror story from the past shows its ugly face in the form of my sister’s ex-boyfriend, how am I to keep myself from drowning in the depths of despair?

  • Awesome read!

While not gruesome in the depictions of abuse, just being able to place yourself or someone you love or even just know in an abusive situation is all the gore anyone needs! Clear and very written so well that I had a hard Tim to put it down!

The plot itself is very entertaining, yet in some places there are major grammatical errors and the dialogue is not always thoroughly developed.
  • Amazing book

I don't like to read but I downloaded this book and couldn't stop reading it. The plot and characters are great and a few amazing plot twists. The only thing I didn't like was some parts I kind of already guessed what was going to happen next. I definitely recommend reading this!

This book was very captivating from beginning to end. I'd read it over and over.
  • More Romance than Mystery, but still good

    By Maribel @ Platypire Reviews
I was gifted this book awhile ago by the author. I don't even know how long it has been, but I remember her asking me to consider leaving a review. Actually, now that I checked my FB messages, she gifted it to me in October 2014. So not too late, compared to other books I have that I promised reviews. Anyway, the book starts off in a courtroom. From there we skip ahead to present day and how Melodi is still trying to cope with the loss of her sister. Although this book is mostly romance, it also holds the mystery as to what happened to Melodi's sister. I love books with mysteries, because it allows me to try and guess what has happened and predict what is to come. Although the love relationship is (to me) a little rushed, I found myself enjoying the relationship between Corban and Melodi. It wasn't too intense, with them saying "I love you" constantly like in other books I've read. That is a plus. I had honestly expected more of a mystery/suspense book than I did a romance book, but it's okay. I don't read romance often, preferring books with romance as a sub-genre. And before I forget, I should mention Jacob is a slimy git. I would have done what Melodi did in the courthouse as well. He had it coming. The appearance of someone important at the end surprised me. And that cliffhanger . . . I loved it. It's no secret that I love cliffhangers. It gets me to speculating about what will happen in the next book, which I intend to purchase whenever the author releases it. Overall, I liked The Lost One and it gets 4/5 Platypires.
