A Cop. A Killer. A secret that threatens them all.

Jamie McKay doesn’t know what she wants, to settle down or strike out on her own. But before she can decide, tragedy strikes and it pushes her straight into the path of a killer.

Kat McKay loves her job as a cop in L.A. but after breaking the rules once too often her job is already on the line when she receives devastating news. Forced to return to the town she left as a teenager, she must turn to the one person she knows she can trust for help – even if he still hates her for leaving.

Nothing is as it seems though, and it is a race against time to find out the truth before it destroys them all.

Described as 'simply unputdownable', this fast-paced series from best-selling author A.J. Carella will keep you turning the pages.

Great read, went quickly now I'm ready for more in the series.
  • Amazing!

I absolutely loved this book. I loved everything about it from beginning to end. I hated how it ended only because I hate cliffhangers BUT it was nothing less than amazing! Would suggest to anyone looking for a great read.

I was confused in this book. In the middle of the story it introduced new characters without any transition. Then it goes to a scene in the cemetery and we are never told how these people died. The author did tie some of it together, but there were too many lose ends. Perhaps the author will explain it in additional books, but it didn't work for me. What happened to Cassie? I won't continue with this series. On a positive note, there were fewer editorial spelling errors than some books I've read.

Good characters, enjoyable easy read. Nice story. Not too full of bad language, gore or suspense.
  • Get there faster!

Nearly the entire first half of the book, was backstory for the main plot. Obviously groundwork needs to be laid for any story to make sense, but for a story this short it felt like it took too long. All of the characters in the first half of the book are completely despicable. Once you finally got to the main story, it got considerably better. Ends in a cliffhanger.
  • Great book.

I loved reading this book and look forward to the next one coming out. Plus I'm dying to know what it was that made Kat leave town! Although I loved the story, there are a few corrections that need to be fixed.
