While I enjoyed the book (I've never been disappointed with Grace Burrowes's books) I did find the plot to be very close to that of the first book. All the same, what I love about the books still remain. I love the true closeness and love shared by the Windham siblings as well as their strength. In a period in which by-blows are often kept under wraps it is nice to see a case where a blended family works and even flourishes. I was glad to see Maggie, the oldest female by-blow depicted in the manner in which she was. There was no animosity or resentment of her on anyone's part. She was strong, passionate and an interesting heroine.
