It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger.

"Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me sit down for a moment, and then I'll be on my way. Speaking of ways, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract."

A tesseract (in case the reader doesn't know) is a wrinkle in time. To tell more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's unusual book. A Wrinkle in Time, winner of the Newbery Medal in 1963, is the story of the adventures in space and time of Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin O'Keefe (athlete, student, and one of the most popular boys in high school). They are in search of Meg's father, a scientist who disappeared while engaged in secret work for the government on the tesseract problem. A Wrinkle in Time is the winner of the 1963 Newbery Medal.

Inspiring story of a girl who struggles to fit in yet knows she never will.. she feels deep love and brassy anger! Often frustrated by the lack of adventure and passion of others! I like it a lot! Should I read the rest of the series or relish this one and move on to new territory??
  • lame book, awful story

when you really think about it, alpacas are just store brand llamas. They're basically the same thing man. they're just shorter and sometimes softer than llamas so that means they'd end up lower on the shelf while llamas would be at eye level so youre gonna buy the llama instead of an alpaca even though they're basically the same. honestly i think alpacas are better because they're so soft dude and they're small so they could like probably live in your house if you wanted. but like whatever floats your goat. speaking of, i like goats but they crap EVERYWHERE. no joke. and sometimes they charge at you. anyway the book was pretty lame, i had to read it for school

I would rate this book five stars, but I can't say that this book deserves it. If I could rate it three and a half stars, I would. Anyway, the book over all was very good. It had adventure, mystery, and a touch of crushes. πŸ˜‰ I liked how the author differentiates the characters with their own way of acting and talking. The reason I didn't absolutely love this book, is that the author practices bad grammar and she made the character, Calvin O'Keefe seem like a total doofus. Other than that, I completely recommend this book. There is also a movie. I give that one star. The person writing the movie should have read the book first! πŸ˜‰πŸ™ƒ
  • Pretty good, but ended too fast

So I thought the book was great! It was pretty believable as well, with the whole other universe part. But the resolution was in like 3 pages. If only they explained it over a longer time. But I did like how they made the ending a cliff hanger!
  • Waaaaw. (Wow)

It's a remarkable book about a family who's different but they end up being the best because they are themselves and they don't care if there different

i'm not a fan of science fiction or anything science for that matter when it comes to reading, but this book was pretty good. aside from that, i like its unique plot and great themes. another plus was its Christian allusions (beforehand, i wasn't aware the author was a Christian--may her soul rest in peace). being that i'm Christian, that was a plus.
