Synopsis

After being left at the altar, Jade Roberts seeks solace at her best friend's ranch on the Colorado western slope. Her humiliation still ripe, she doesn't expect to be attracted to her friend's reticent brother, but when the gorgeous cowboy kisses her, all bets are off.

Talon Steel is broken. Having never fully healed from a horrific childhood trauma, he simply exists, taking from women what is offered and giving nothing in return...until Jade Roberts catapults into his life. She is beautiful, sweet, and giving, and his desire for her becomes a craving he fears he'll never be able to satisfy.

Passion sizzles between the two lovers...but long-buried secrets haunt them both and may eventually tear them apart.

  • Romance is good but...

I'm all for a dominant man but at times Talon seemed extremely abusive and not at all in a safe way. The child predator aspect of it was horrid too- I did not need that kind of detail to know he was abused. The writing was great but I found myself skipping paragraphs because I was grossed out or appalled by the abuse from Talon towards Jade.

I literally stumbled across Helen's books by chance and I literally have been hooked. Read the book in one day! The dynamics of the character and their stories makes you feel like your apart of the book! Jade and Talons story is one of a kind.
  • Easy Read but parallel to FSG

This book is going to be compared to Fifty Shades of Grey just due to the sexual content. However, the author could have helped that out by removing so many things that are similar to FSG. Example, the main characters last name is Steel. Their fathers middle and last name is Raymond Steel. (Same as dad in FSG). The guy is messed up in the head due to a childhood trauma. (Like Christian). It would have been better if it wasn't so parallel with FSG. Overall it was an easy and enjoyable read. Still deciding if I'm going to continue reading the next book in the series...
  • Very slow...

I'm not crazy about the language in this book. I almost can't enjoy it for mentally bleeping out certain words. Also, I feel like the plot is very SLOW to develop. You read the first, and pretty much all of the second before you figure out what's going on. I feel like the whole book you read and read and read....and you never figure figure what's going on? Good love story that holds your attention but the only thing. Not one of my favorites.

Great character development & mysterious, suspenseful storyline. Too bad it ends in a cliffhanger. Would love to continue this series but this authors' books are just too expensive for me. Sorry it's just not worth the big investment to keep reading these books. πŸ˜±πŸ€‘πŸ˜Ÿ

Such a great series! Ive spent about two weeks and I'm on the fourth book. The books are fairly short, which is why it's quit to read, but addicting nonetheless! I do wish some of the books could be combined instead of turning it into a whole new book as it becomes costly in the long run....
  • Absolutely Awful

Whomever compared this book to 50 Shades has obviously never read that series. This is poorly written, boring, and predictable. I didn't even finish the book. A complete waste of $5.
